TURF SERVICE EQUIPMENT SALES & REPAIR began as Summit Power in 1986. In 1989, Kenny Machinery, the Toro Distributor and owner of Summit Power, decided to consolidate its operation back to its central location in Indianapolis and thus sold Summit Power to Mike Miller, an employee. Mike changed the name of Summit Power to Turf Service & Supply and operated the business as a commercial turf service center from its present location at 5130 Industrial Road for the next 17 years. Mike retired in 2006 and sold the business to William (Bill) Fish in November of that year. The name of the business was expanded to its present name to be more reflected of its business activity – sales and repair of turf equipment.

The business was greatly expanded in 2007 with the purchase of the former and historic ROOTS CAMPING AND SKI HAUS building located at 6844 North Clinton Street which has become our sizeable and yet unique retail location. Much of the historic nature of the building has been kept in tack in honoring the legacy of Jack Root himself.
